Built at Crewe in 1959 and delivered new to Danygraig Depot, Swansea . Subsequently the loco was allocated to many different depots throughout the Western, London Midland and Eastern Regions of BR. 08590 was rescued from Heaton, Newcastle in 1994 and moved to the Midland Railway – Butterley. The locomotive is mainly as a carriage shunter and can usually be found at Butterley station.
